May 2006
Ok, first things first. I got a new faceplate for my phone
and it brings me much joy. it also brought me joy to make this
rollover picture of the front and back of my newly faceplated phone.
Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival - 2006
So here are the pictures from my small solitary afternoon:

"Welcome to Elkton, Home of the Shotgun Wedding!"
Various sheep, alpacas and angoras:

I love twinkies, but seriously?

So I instead went for ribbon potatoes with sour cream, chives and cheese.

Kool-Aid Yarn Dyeing

I started with Patons, as it is cheap and locally available

And I bought 3 of every packet of Kool-Aid that the store had to offer

I strung the yarn out on my counter

And put it into bowls filled with Kool-Aid. After
a few minutes in the microwave, I have:

And yeah, the only thing I could find to wrap the yarn on way a large dinosaur book

And here it is in a nice little hank. I reminds me of
the sherbert I used to get as a kid

This is worsted weight yarn, and only one skein of it dyed, so I decided
to knit a small sockette (just enough to keep tootsies warm, but not too
warm) and the only sock pattern I had committed to memory at the moment
was the jaywalker pattern.

Marley needed to get in on the action and chose the colors for this.
I like to call it "Blood and Pepto"
